Sharing the stage with marine biologist, Katja Peijnenburg, the Kosmos orchestra’s first concert at the Oranjewoud Festival on 1 June, was a success. Music and stories intertwined and got an enthusiastic response from an outdoors crowd in not-too-warm circumstances.
Every day sees a climate event in the news. I am worried, especially about the world that the next generations will live in. How to reach more people and make them actively take care of the planet? I spoke to 5 top scientists to find out, and translated their stories and ideas into my new orchestral piece “Kosmos”. The ensemble consists of 17 Young Professionals, alumni of the National Youth Orchestras. With them, I aim to change hearts and minds for the planet. For them, this is also an important experience on the way to a full-time life in music and points the way to a more impactful concert practice. But we need your help to make this happen, as we are still just short of our financial goal!
Please support this important mission and in exchange, receive the recording of “Kosmos”!
